2.2 NPI Data vs. Site Content
NPI data is public information from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). The data itself is published by CMS. Our presentation, search tools, user interface, and site design remain our intellectual property. You may not copy, scrape, or republish our compilation or presentation without permission.
2.3 Limited License for Personal Use
Subject to these Terms, NPIPublicData.org grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes only. This license does not include:
- Any resale or commercial use of the Service or its contents
- Any collection, aggregation, copying, duplication, display, or derivative use of the Service or its contents
- Any use of data mining, robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, or similar data gathering or extraction tools
2.4 Anti-Scraping and Data Extraction Prohibition
You expressly agree that you will not:
- Use any automated system, including but not limited to robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, or any other automated means, to access the Service for any purpose
- Extract, harvest, collect, or compile NPI data or any other content from our Service for use on competing websites or applications
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without express written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software or algorithms used by the Service
Violation of this section may result in immediate termination of your access to the Service, and NPIPublicData.org reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies against violators.
3. USER CONDUCT AND FAIR USE
3.1 Intended Use
NPIPublicData.org is designed as a free reference tool to help users look up National Provider Identifier (NPI) records. Our lookup is intended for:
- Verifying healthcare provider identity
- Confirming NPI numbers for billing, credentialing, or administrative purposes
- Finding provider details by name or taxonomy
- General reference and convenience
3.2 Official Verification
Our NPI lookup is for general reference only. For official verification (e.g., billing, credentialing, payer enrollment, HIPAA transactions), you must use the official NPPES NPI Registry. We are not affiliated with CMS or any government agency.
3.3 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any activity that:
- Disrupts, interferes with, or places an unreasonable burden on our servers or network infrastructure
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- Introduces viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any user who violates these Terms.
4. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The Service, including all content, software, functions, materials, and information made available on or accessed through the Service, is provided on an "as is," "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
NPIPublicData.org and its affiliates, licensors, and suppliers expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to:

- Warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of NPI data or lookup results
- Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components
- Warranties regarding the validity of results for any particular purpose
NPIPublicData.org does not warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any NPI data provided by the Service. NPI information comes from NPPES and may be delayed or contain errors. You use the Service and rely on any results at your own risk.
5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall NPIPublicData.org, its operators, directors, employees, agents, partners, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:
- Damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses
- Damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
- Damages arising from reliance on NPI data or lookup results from the Service
- Any other matter relating to the Service
The foregoing limitation of liability shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
In no event shall our total liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the Service, or one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100), whichever is less.
6. ADVERTISEMENTS AND THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The Service may contain advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks. How advertising is used, including any related data practices, is described in our Privacy Policy. NPIPublicData.org may also contain links to third-party websites (e.g., the official NPPES NPI Registry, CMS) that are not owned or controlled by us.
NPIPublicData.org has not reviewed all sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site.
The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement, approval, or control by NPIPublicData.org of the linked site.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services
- Advertisements displayed on our Service are the sole responsibility of the advertisers

8. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
